This was done for Swift Awareness Week.The annual campaign highlights the protection of the Common Swift, an iconic summer visitor currently on the UK Red List for birds. The event focuses on raising awareness about nesting site loss and promoting the installation of swift bricks
The UK Government has opposed any bills to make Swift bricks compulsory for all new builds, leaving it up to local planning policy.
This animation highlights the threat to swift populations in removing their nests, and active petitions that people can sign to bring this issue to Parliament again.
